Cheers Craig, it all depends what the "modern re-imagining" actually means. For example, there is a Colin Firth movie called "Donovan Quick" about a man who takes on a bus company. Phil

Thanks Phil. I was hoping this news was a little premature. I was certainly a little shocked by the headline I reposted above, considering the source is Hitfix. I'll be taking their news with a grain of salt next time.
I hope that Johnny would be the foot in the door for Gilliam to some day be able to make a movie for Disney, however crazy that may sound.

Craig, I don't see where Gilliam would fit here... Apparently Depp wants to play Quixote or a quixote-like character and that never was Gilliam's plan. (also, the direction seems bound to go to Steve Pink) Anyway, Gilliam makes it clear that he was not involved or consulted before the announcement : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD0tPNzDkRc

I should've clarified that I was referring to any future project, not this Quixote movie Depp is putting together. Thanks for the video.
